The culture in the bay area is more than just a place where brilliant ideas are generated, it is also the place that most dramatically influences modern culture. Does the Bay area doesn't have enough cultural diversity to represent all of mankind?  

Let's face it; for many people there's the iPhone and then there's the green bubble.  They don't care what your deal is, they just know that you are not part of the same club.  There is a stigma with being a green bubble.  Honestly, I've judged people for it.  So, what does being a green bubble say about me?  

Skeuomorphism isn't always a bad word.  Used tastefully and cautiously it can be very powerful.  Let's talk about it.  

Skeuomorphism gets a bad wrap.  When I worked at Microsoft it was about the worst designation you could give something.  We tried to kill it but it refuses to die.  The world is just not ready for a completely digital experience.  Here is the path back to skeuomorphism based on the big 3 UX heavyweights. 

Kurt Vonnegut and his brother Bernard worked together at GE's innovation laboratory called The House of Magic.  Much of the research at GE's lab is the foundation for many of Kurt's books, in particular Ice-9 from Cats Cradle.  This book tells the story of the two brothers and how they inspired each other.

I surveyed 80 people to determine how they choose a toilet stall.  What I learned will shock and appall you.  This will upend everything you thought you knew about choosing a bathroom stall.  *subjective statement

My phone doesn't sync to my computer.  My music won't play on my TV.  Notes don't sync from my phone to computer.  It's like going to Thanksgiving dinner and each family member holding a grudge against everyone else.  Will we ever achieve the tech utopia we've been promised?

A big year for music!  I have compiled my favorite tracks from my favorite new albums of my favorite bands in my favorite year 2015.  And you know if it's my favorite then you are you going to love it.  no? Well you don't know what good music is.  Good music is exclusively from bands that are 20 years old or more...

I've worked on some really interesting machine learning projects.  Some colleagues here at Google put together a great overview of the idea of machine learning and the deep brain.

We've all been there; you walk into a bathroom and it is completely empty. You are then left with the daunting decision of which stall to spend your stay in.  Everyone has a different approach to making this decision.  Please help me gather insight into why people choose the stalls they do by taking this survey.

With the release of Forcetouch we are seeing Apple solve the same problem twice on our beloved iPhones.  In this series we will look at the evolution of the product and make a case for a complete product reboot.
